I took these photos yesterday with the intention of sharing them with you but then I got sidetracked by the photos of Bella and Portia and ended up blogging those instead. In my defense, my gorgeous daughter and a beautiful animal are far more interesting than chore cards. BUT these are pretty nifty anyways and I think could definitely be of use to other mums, like myself, who struggle to organise little people. My big girls are 14 and nearly 13 so a bit big but these are going to work perfectly for my 7 year old who requires set routine to function. These help let him know exactly what he needs to do and when. The chore cards are free printables that I found on Pinterest (you can follow me on Pinterest here – I have managed to get quite a few Pinterest followers without having to work at it – apparently I am very good at finding interesting things) and came from this website…
We printed them, customised them for Alex and then laminated them. I didn’t have a silver circle on hand although I now realise I probably could have used a keyring and I might go take the yarn off them and do that. Some of them we didn’t bother with – vacuuming for example isn’t one of Alex’s chores – but there are also blank ones at the end and I wrote some things on them like “Do homework” and “Pack lunch” and then laminated a few blank ones that I can write on with whiteboard marker for days when he might have a ‘special’ job to help with, like packing a bag for us to go away or helping put away the chooks. All in all I’m really pleased with them.
Enjoy!
